Artists of the past were like functions. They produced incredible results through which people could see subtle details about the world. Some details that artists could notice, but general public could not.

Artists of today are like processes or actors. The do the input/output all the time, communicate with the world. Constantly produce results, probably not so incredible. What's valuable is the exact sequence of exact actions. Actions that form into a story, a narrative.

Modern artist forms a certain model by his actions. He is an actor who invents his own role. And the whole world is the stage.

Just look at last Banksy prank.
